📘 Introducción
El inglés tiene dos tiempos verbales básicos para hablar del presente: el Presente Simple y el Presente Continuo. Aunque ambos se refieren al presente, se usan en contextos distintos.
📗 Presente Simple
Se usa para rutinas, hábitos y hechos generales.
Estructura afirmativa: Sujeto + verbo base (+ s/es en tercera persona)
Negación: Sujeto + do/does + not + verbo base
Pregunta: Do/Does + sujeto + verbo base?
✅ She works in a bank.
❌ She does not work in a bank.
❓ Does she work in a bank?
📙 Presente Continuo
Se usa para acciones en progreso o temporales.
Estructura afirmativa: Sujeto + am/is/are + verbo + ing
Negación: Sujeto + am/is/are + not + verbo + ing
Pregunta: Am/Is/Are + sujeto + verbo + ing?
✅ She is working today.
❌ She is not working today.
❓ Is she working today?
📒 Reglas ortográficas para el -ing
- Verbos terminados en “e”: se elimina la “e” → make → making
- Verbos cortos con consonante-vocal-consonante: se duplica la última consonante → run → running
- Verbos terminados en “ie”: se cambia por “y” → die → dying
- Verbos regulares: simplemente se añade “ing” → play → playing
